Honeymoon Payments

I just read a post in which the bride mentioned making the last payment on her honeymoon...

I wasn't aware that you could make payments on a honeymoon...I thought you just booked and paid with credit.

Neither FH or I have an actual credit card (I have debit) so I was wondering if I was going to have to get one (We have both had credit issues in the past...so I don't even know if I can).

Do travel agents allow you to make payments in cash?

Anyone have any advice on how to go about paying for a HM sans credit card?

We paid a deposit on (about 10%) the HM with the TA when we first booked. The rest is due about 45-60 days before the trip.

ETA: We used credit for the down payment and using check for rest.

You should absolutely be able to pay with cash or a check. Your best bet is to check with your particular travel agent.

We had to put $500 to reserve. The remainder of the cost is due 6 weeks before we leave.

ours was 3 payments through our travel agent...in the beginning we had 2 payments w/in a few weeks of each other (one was $300 for the hotel deposit and the other was the entire airfare) then later (about 60 days out) we paid for the rest of the hotel..we had the option of paying each payment however we wanted so we only put one (the biggest one) on our credit card...

If you book with a TA they will let you pay cash or even on your debit card....we just gave ours our debit card number and she gave us a schedule of when payments were due

we booked at Liberty Travel and we were able to make payments. as many as we wanted. Just had to make sure it was all paid off 2 weeks before. It really works out great when you can make payments.
