Honeymoon plans

Has anyone who is getting married soon and honeymooning in Hawaii tried to cancel and re-book their trips for lower prices? We have traveller's insurance & find it hard to believe that prices haven't come down with all the articles you see about how tourism in Hawaii has been affected lately.

Unfortunately, I haven't. We are going to Aruba and our direct flights got cancelled (after 9/11), we are now flying thru Atlanta and it is still the same airfare! If you are using a travel agent, she should be able to check on other packages for you though. I know mine got cheaper right before I booked it.

FYI: Hawaii has been having tourism problems for a ccouple of years now. It is not only recently...Since the Japanese recession (1990s) the number of flights from Japan (as close as LA to Hawaii) by 75%...so what the deal you got, could be the best...I know this was the case 2 years ago when I went ($800 air and hotel)
