HONEYMOON PROBLEMS! HELP! VENT

so FH & I are looking to go a Mediterranean Cruise for our HM. We are getting married on June 12, 2011 and we would take a flight to Europe, depending on when the cruise departs on either June 13th or June 14th.

Ideally we would like a 14 days cruise. It doesn't have to return to the same port it departed from.

We saw some cruises we really liked but i don't know what it is with that particular week in June. No cruises really leave that week!!!! WHY!!!!!

i can take 21 days off from work, and FH & I want to spend at least 2-3 days in Rome without a cruise to sight see. So even if the cruise leaves on June 16 or June 17th, we would be ok with this!

But the number of cruises leaving on any of those days are almost none and the ones that do are too short!! Why does this have to be so hard! we were planning on using a travel agent to help us with this whole HM planning, but we wanted to check and see what we could find online, to see what ports the cruise ship will go to.

There was one that we fell in love with, but it leaves on the 13th!!! we would never make it! it left from Rome and went to Capri, Sicily, Turkey, Cyrpus, Israel, Egypt, Greece, Croatia and Syria.

Is anyone else having the same trouble with finiding cruises that leave right after their wedding? Or is it just us and we picked a bad day to get married and its messing up our HM?

wow I wonder why none leave that week. I'm sorry you cant book the one you wanted. I guess I'd try to see what ships leave from other ports in Europe and fly there if possible. You seem to have some leeway with where you leave from.

do you have a travel agent? I'd make them do that work for you.

we don't want to wait to go on our honeymoon.
we want to go right after the wedding since its down time for both of us at work. and it makes sense. doing something small right after the wedding and then going on a real HM like a month later is not an option for us, b/c of work and other family obligations.
it doesn't matter what port we leave from, we really don't care, so i was hoping that would help us, but it isn't!
since i have 21 days to use, it would be a waste to spend so much of those days just sitting at home doing nothing when i could be somewhere else!

I don't blame you. I wanna leave the day after our wedding too.

Crashing - Are there any that leave around the 20th or so?

We're taking a Celebrity cruise to the Mediterranean for our HM. We get married on June 5th and our cruise leaves on the 14th. We're flying into Rome on the 11th and spending two days there before getting on the ship. It's really not the end of the world to wait a week. Besides, this way you can pack for the HM AFTER the wedding and not have to worry about it with all of the other stuff you need to do.

because of our work scheduled we can only go on our HM in June, not July. we can take 21 days off. business days. so waiting 5 days in between to go on our HM is not an option because we lose those days and don't get them back.
that's why we are willing to stay in Rome first and sight see there and then leave like on the 17th for the cruise

I am in the same boat!!!!!! Try cruisecompete.com another LIW girl recommended it, it will check all cruiselines for you, did you try Costa, they are suppose to be amazing!!!!

Contact a travel agent. I found out about so many more cruise lines than I could ever find on any of those travel websites. An agent will really be able to help you on this.
