Honeymoon question

Honeymoon question

My FH and I are planning on going to either Mexico or St. Lucia for our honeymoon (we are going during hurricane season so these are the places to least likely get hit) Any advice on where to stay that is all inclusive? I've looked at a few places but need some assistance. Also pictures are good.

If any of you ladies have another Honeymoon suggestion for that time of year please feel free to chime in.

thanks

Re: Honeymoon question

Eother Sandals in St. Lucia and somewhere in Riviera Maya in Mexico. I heard Moon Palace is awesome in Mexico. FH and I stayed at an AI in Riviera Maya called Bahia Principae. It was pretty affordable if that is what you ae looking for. We didn't go for a HM (obviously) so we didn't wat to spend a fortune.

Aruba is the best bet for non hurricane issues that time of year. They are out of the hurricane belt. We are going to Rivera Maya too and staying at Excellence Resorts. It looks amazing... paradise =)

Re: Honeymoon question

We went to the Sandals Grande in St Lucia and LOVED it. The room was really comfortable and quiet, the pools were gorgeous, the ocean--mmmm, the ocean. We preferred swimming in the ocean, except it didn't have a bar like the pool. Oh, I love a good pool bar. And I don't even drink! Wow, I miss those virgin mango daiquiris...

Re: Honeymoon question

For St. Lucia I would definitely recommend Sandals. We haven't been to the St. Lucia location yet, but that's where we're having our honeymoon and we've been to two other Sandals in the past and they were both GREAT!!

As for Mexico, I would DEFINITELY check out the couples-only, all inclusive called Secrets in Mexico. (they have a few locations) We went to Secrets in Punta Cana, DR and it was AMAZING.....actually even better than Sandals too!! The atmosphere was great, VERY clean, food was great and so on. And the best part about Secrets too is that every room has a jacuzzi!! (at all the same price)
Check them out...Here's there website: Secrets Resorts

Good luck! HTH

Re: Honeymoon question

Have you looked up both locations on Tripadvisor.com at all? I love that site, they give all the top 10 or 20 hotels (inclusive places as well) based on previous visitors ratings of their experience, its great.

We'Re going to Mexico fr our HM...we're staying at El Dorado Seaside Suites...its about an hour south of Cancun and adults only... It looks awesome! Its on the smaller side and more quiet and relaxed... and not really any night life..which is exactly what we wanted.

Re: Honeymoon question

St. Lucia and Mexico can still get hit with a hurrican. Cancun is still recovering (but is better then ever) after hurrican Wilma a couple of years ago. If you want to stay away from hurricans the place that will probably offer you the safest bet is still Aruba. It isn't impossible to get hit but it is least likely to. If you choose St. Lucia or Mexico look for a resort that offers a hurrican gaurentee like Sandals in St. Luica (if you are there and a hurrican hits whether it is your first day or your last) they give you a voucher for a whole new trip...)

We are staying at The Jlousie Plantation. All separate villas and pools. We heard really great things about it.

We are going to Cabo San Lucas and stay at One and Only Resorts, Los Palmilla

go to www.oneandonlyresorts.com

I saw it on a Platinum weddings show and fell in love with it, then some friends went there in May and said it was unbelievable. have fun picking out a place.

I saw that this place had villas and private pool but wasn't sure if they offered them to visitors. It looked like they were a real estate purchase. I'll have to check it out again. Thanks for the advise. We are really trying to find a place that will give us our own private pool (just incase I don't have my six pack abs by then) Teehee
