fh and i have started looking into honeymoons since his parents are paying and they want an idea of how much they are going to need. we were originially leaning towards an island or someplace tropical, but have recently decided on europe. after doing some research were thinking of spending 4-5days in italy then leaving on a 14 night meditterrean cruise.. my question is this. one of the stops on the cruise is in egypt and another is turkey. are these places safe to visit? i honestly dont want to travel someplace where i need to worry about suicide bombers. i would love to see egypt, but im thinking its probably not so safe to visit?? am i wrong?? are these places actually safe to visit? id be spending my nights on a cruise ship, so i would not be staying at their hotels.

Re: honeymoon question
My parents went on a Egypt vacation recently and they were fine. I don't think its a bad place to go. It would be an amazing experience. I would LOVE to go to Egypt. I don't know anything about Turkey, but I don't think its supposed to be bad.

Re: honeymoon question
I think cruises in the Mediterranean are kind of like cruises in the caribbean during Hurricane season....if it's not safe, they change the itinerary.
My co-worker was going to go to Turkey in September and her tour guide cancelled the trip in July because he thought it wouldn't be safe. She had no probem in Egypt the year before and I was in Israel in March with no problem
You should be fine! But just in case...take out the cancellation insurance!
