I think you only need a travel agent if your going to multiple locations, if your going to one place like a Sandals resort, you can book it yourself online.

I went to a travel agent for the first time last year when we went on our first 'real' vacation to Hawaii. I recommend it because it's a great feeling to know that if anything goes wrong, you're not responsible. I use Jennifer or Anne at Sewanhaka Travel and they are amazing! I sat with them for almost six hours between yesterday and today switching around our whole honeymoon because I planned the timing wrong with my work schedule and everything was way too high over Easter break- they fixed everything for us and ended up saving us over $1,000 from what we were originally paying! If you plan on staying at a Sandals or an all-inclusive resort during a school vacation, I would definitely book soon. Almost every room at the ones we looked at were already booked for April. Good luck!

Re: Honeymoon questions
You can, we didn't for our cruise portion because I find it easier to just call up myself if there is a price change. It was such a pain calling up the travel agent who then had to call up the cruise line. I actually missed an upgrade once because of that.

We did a cruise so we booked it ourselves. I think it depends on where you are going. If you are going to multiple places or overseas def. get a travel agent.
