Does anyone know how to set one of these up, FH and I really don't have alot of stuff to register for since we live together and basically have alot of stuff, but I have heard of these, and would like to know what it is, and how to set it up. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Honeymoon Registries
you basically go to the site and register your info like any other registry. then you start to fill in all your registry 'items'. you determine the costs and items yourself based on the things you want to do on your honeymoon. we used honeyfund.com. just read the fine print on any site you use, some will charge a fee.

Re: Honeymoon Registries
The only thing I didn't like about the honeymoon registries was that you get the $ in the form of one check. SO.....you have to request the check weeks in advance to make sure you have the money for HM. Also, most charge your guests a fee. So if they pay $100 they also pay a seperate fee on top of that. You could also decide to have the fees taken out of your total check so instead of getting $500 you only get $425 or something. I didn't like that

Re: Honeymoon Registries
I am registered at honeymoon.com The bride and groom does not get charged anything but the guests get charged a minimal fee. If they purchase something for $50 they end up paying $54. It works out to the same as if they were paying tax or shipping on a regular registry. Again this does not take away from the bride and groom's lump sum and you get a check 2 weeks before HM and another after the honeymoon (in case someone purchased after the first disbursement)

Re: Honeymoon Registries
Depending on your TA, they might also offer the registry without using a site. I know Liberty does.
We were going to register for our HM but ultimately decided against it. THe biggest issue was that our final payment for the HM is due 90 days before, so the shower would have to be before that and we wouldnt know what we would owe for the HM until then!!

Re: Honeymoon Registries
i believe honeyfund.com does not charge anyone a fee -- they let guests print a certificate that says 'i bought you XX' and then they give it with a check/cash/whatever. it's not really that different from giving $$$ IMO but maybe some people who wouldnt want to give $$ would feel better about giving you 'something' ?
