Re: Honeymoon Registry

I believe you can register for 'dollars' through hotels. I know Starwood does this? You can register for gift cards in certian amounts which can be used at the Sarwood hotels. I am considering doing this. I am not overly domestic...so I'd rather have my honeymoon paid for than get baking sheets : )

Re: Honeymoon Registry

I once got a shower invite and they ONLY had a honeymoon registry. basically you would do it with liberty travel for example, then when i went on the site and pulled up their registry, it showed a bunch of things i buy or contribute more like towards their honeymoon. Such as lunch in spain and it was $50 each and a quantity of 6 so you can get 1 quantity and others can get it too if they want. Other things on there were, upgrade room, certain tours in the area youre going to, shopping, dinner, bottle of wine, massage, manicure, even cash, breakfast.

BUT the truth is, and i found this out later. Is that the couple who registered dont receive those actual things, no coupon for massage or whatever. You receive a check in the amount of the total things purchased off your registry. So in the end you do what you want with the money and dont have to do any of those things.

If youre going to do this i suggest at least doing a store registry too. If you have older guests who NEVER use a computer theyre not gonna go on a computer to do this. Plus some old school ppl are not comfortable with this...just saying bc i remember the reaction from others about the shower we got it for and ill be very honest but alot of ppl had things to say

I agree with Denise. Although I think this is a great idea I would suggest registering for some 'regular' items as well - maybe electronics or a grill, etc. I know my cousin who is getting married next month did a honeymoon registery and my mother actually called it 'tacky'. After I laughed, I told her she was acting just like all the bridal magazines say 'older' guests might act!!!

Re: Honeymoon Registry

i did a honeymoon registry using www.honeymoonwishes.com - they were recommended by my wedding coordinator Francesca at Jericho Terrace. Basically what you do is go to the site and register to create your registry. You just add in different activities and put in a dollar amount that you would need in order to do that activity. For example, we are going to Cancun for our honeymoon. We want to go snorkling so I added 'Jungle Tour Snorkling' 4 tickets at $40 each . If you want feel free to check out my registry - its under Rebecca Rivera...good luck!

Re: Honeymoon Registry

I did mine through my travel agent at CRUISEONE. She did it through honeymoonships.com and it worked out great for me.....MY WHOLE HONEYMOON WAS COMPLETELY PAID FOR! Definitely something to consider. Ask your travel agent.

Re: Honeymoon Registry

there is also something called a huneyfund that is free online... you contribute through paypal.. there is a thread about it somewhere in the archives...

p.s. i really want to do one and have heard success from others who have, with a more traditional registry as well too..

Re: Honeymoon Registry

I had a honeymoon registry at honeyfund.com. It was great. You sign up, let your guests know about it, and it doesn't cost them any extra fees to get you something. My co-workers threw me a shower and they got me stuff from this registry. Cash is always handy so I think its agreat idea.

You register for stuff you want on your honeymoon : it can be anywhere from dinner to water sports. Cehck out the site, they have sample registries on there.
Hope that helped
