My mom thinks so. i really dont have a lot left on my registry. The only big thing left is the bedding. I have a lot of aunts and cousins so they usually want to get big things.
What's everyone's opinion on this?

Re: Honeymoon registry?
I want to do this as well. I think older people may think it's tacky because it's something fairly new, and they don't know how older relative will react to it. I think it's a great idea though, and will probably do it!

I agree... the older generation of people won't understand the point of it but I do think it's an awesome idea

Re: Honeymoon registry?
I'm doing one-FH & I have owned our house for 2 years; it will be 3 by the time we get married. We have all our drinkware; linens; decorative stuff. I'd rather put some small items on a traditional registry; and also include the HM registry since there isn't THAT much stuff we need.

no-you can do a honeymoon registry towards either the actual honeymoon; or gifts for on the honeymoon. People can purchase different excursions; candlelight dinner; spa treatments.

Re: Honeymoon registry?
Honeymoon registry is when people pay for things like ur flight, hotel stay, dinner, any fun things u wanna do for ur honeymoon. I don't think it is tacky at all, I think it is smart!!!

Re: Honeymoon registry?
I am doing one. I think its a GREAT idea because FH and I already live together and we don't need the typical household items that newlyweds register for at Bed Bath & Beyond, etc, etc.
There are several Honeymoon Registry web sites that teach you how to set one up, soup to nuts. I may be using Travelers Joy. They seem to be very popular. I'm sure there are a few others that are popular and if you search on LIW, you could also get those web sites.
HTH!

i agree- i don't know if older people will understand it, but i think it's a great idea. i would make sure you still have some typical gifts left on your registry for your older relatives if they don't want to do the honeymoon registry, but other than that i say go for it!!

Re: Honeymoon registry?
FH and I are doing one. We set it up at TravelersJoy.com. The set up was really easy and they have sample registries for you too look at to get ideas. The hardest part of the whole thing was checking out all the excursions and getting all the information compiled for what we may want to do.
We also set up a small, and I mean small, registry on BBB. We have 2 houses full of stuff and we already combined once. We're good on most things, so we dont' really need anything really.
I ran the whole thing by my family, my very old school italian family, and they loved the idea. They think it's really smart.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Times change, things change. Many couples that are getting married these days already do live together, so the traditional registry wouldn't work for them.
We just added the link to our wedding website for people to check out easily.

Re: Honeymoon registry?
I think it's a good idea. I would love to do that, but since FH and I don't even have a dish or glass, we are just sticking to the regular registry to ensure we get everything we need.

Re: Honeymoon registry?
FH and I are doing it. We don't feel its tacky at all. We kind of took the approach that we'd rather buy one of our friends or family something for their honeymoon over some pots and pans anyday so they probably feel the same.
I do think that 'older' guests will maybe think its tacky but if so then they can buy us something off the regular registry.

Re: Honeymoon registry?
FH thinks it is tacky too
My friend did one for her upcoming shower and is getting things off of it
Here is the thing...they just cut you a big fat check at the end. So you really don't have to use that money for the Honeymoon [she went through liberty travel]
She asked for dinner on the beach, tours, massages, etc. She may never do any of the things she asked for. So in the end it was like giving someone a check for their shower gift instead of an actual gift

Re: Honeymoon registry?
a friend from work did this for her hawaii honeymoon, she loved it bc she didnt really want that much stuff either.
Im getting my honeymoon given to me from a friend of the family is giving me their timeshare in cabo and personally I want gifts.
Right now we are in an apartment, but I plan on getting a house as soon as we get married so the more presents the better.
