Have you ladies ever heard of this? How does it work? FH and I already booked out honeymoon, but I was wondering what a honeymoon registry can be used for. My FH's stepmom suggested this for things such as excursions, and I'm curious what you ladies think about it, especially the those who have one!
FH and I have one through sandals. We thought it was awesome at first and we had hoped it would help cover the cost of the trip and excursions. All of our excursions have been purchased which is awesome HOWEVER, we realized that if people wanted to contribute say $100 towards our room, sandals actually will charge them tax so it would be more like $107. This bothered us because we are paying tax already. Felt bad our friends would be paying more than necessary so we removed the general contribution option and just left the excursions.
I'm curious how more general (not sandals) honeymoon sites work and whether or not they charge tax as well.

I was curious about this too! I just started looking some up, and some charged fees, while others didn't if you opt to have your guests send checks, instead of paying through the site with a credit card. I need to do more research on this to see which will work for us. I'd feel bad too if my guests had to pay extra taxes.
Any help or suggestions you ladies have will be most helpful!

Yeah it's kinda confusing. I wouldn't feel as bad about our guests paying tax if we didn't already pay taxes when we booked. Just seemed sheisty. Definitely keep us posted if you find a good site!

i have a sandals registry for excursions, but honestly not alot of people bought from it... we had alot on our macy's registry so almost everyone flocked to that. If I could go back I probably wouldn't have done one just because it didn't really get much action... If your other registries are small, then I would say a honeymoon registry is more worth it

I did ours through Honeyfund. You have to research the stuff you want to do yourself because when you register you put in all the info and pricing yourself. I picked this because people can write a check or give cash and print out a certificate to give as the gift along with the check. They also can pay through paypal and if they do online, we pay the 2% (I think) charge. The guests never pay more.
