Honeymoon Registry a Hit!

Honeymoon Registry a Hit!

Hi girls, just wanted to shared that our honeymoon registry has been a total hit with our guests! Everyone has loved the idea because it's different and many have said that they didnt want to just get us something for the home (we had an engagement party registry a year and half ago)so they loved it.

We didnt ask for flight money or hotel (although we did include for an upgrade) because that is already paid. Just for fun activities while we are there. They have just all asked for pictures, which we are planing on doing anyway for each activity.

We are using thehoneymoon.com. When I was researching it, I found that traverlers joy is the most popular, but I liked that this site is exclusively for honeymoon (to confuse our guests less) and that the service fee goes down the more gifts you get.

Re: Honeymoon Registry a Hit!

I think we might use buyourhoneymoon.com it only has a 464 flat rate!!!!!!!!!!!! Be careful cause some of the registries take a percentage of what you are given!!!

Ours charges a fee on each gift given, we can choose whether our guests pay it, or we pay it from each gift. We chose to pay it. On a $60 gift, they take like $4.50 at first, and if you get at least $500 worth of gifts, it goes down, and then if we hit 1K it goes down some more and so forth. We didnt want to do a flat rate because we did not know if our guests would use it, or how many would be willing.

Yeahh it was great-- we still did a BBB reg but kept it very limited to only the things we realllly needed-- we bought our house 2 yrs ago so most ppl knew we didnt need the typical household things

Re: Honeymoon Registry a Hit!

I know a honeymoon fund is useful for those who have a house and don't really need any household items, but I've recenly been asked to purchase something on a friends honeymoon fund and they're not even having a shower or a party. I think that's so rude...bc its basically me spending $$ plus giving $$ at the wedding. The whole thing is just disrespectful. Make sure you guys do something for the guests who purchase something on your registry.

im confused - how does it work? do people just give you money or do you actually have to put it towards a honeymoon?
