Honeymoon Registry..Should I??

I am a little confused about how the HM registries work.. I believe some sites make you get a honeymoon through them and some dont. Also some charge a large fee. do you girls know of any good sites that dont make you pay a fee?

i'm using HoneymoonWishes.com ... you get a check for the total amount of money you received about a week before your wedding. You can use that money however you like (doesn't even have to be towards the HM).

they do have a fee but they let you 'hide' it from your guests if you like (so if they give $100, you'll get a check for $95 and $5 is used for the fee) ... i don't know waht the actual fee percent is offhand though

honeyfund.com is the one one I know of that doesn't have a fee, but I don't like the set up of it. Guests only print out a certificate then give you cash or check at ur shower with the certificate...I didn't like that.

I chose to go with travelersjoy.com b/c I like the setup better. It's setup like a regular registry where guests actually 'buy' the item right online...there is no exchange of money between you and your guest. They pool all the money from your gifts together and you can request the money at any time, as many times as you want.

Re: Honeymoon Registries

We used travelersjoy.com for our HM registry and it worked out great! I'd be happy to send you the link to our registry if you want to see it -- just FM me.

Basically, you set it up similar to any other registry, except you create all the content -- the gifts and the prices! The fee is 7% which is less than tax, when you think about it! It comes out of the gift but your guests don't 'see' the fee. We got almost $2k worth of presents from our HM registry. It was very popular for wedding gifts for us, and we loved being able to share so much of our honeymoon with our friends and family!

I am using thehoneymoon.com the more people buy off your registry, the less of a percentage fee they charge

Re: Honeymoon Registry? Should I??

My only concern now is that I may have too many gifts registered at macys to also add HM registry. since FH and I dont have a house together yet we are going to need a lot of stuff for when we move in so I dont know if I should also add the HM registry? Any Suggestions will be great!!
