I'm trying so hard to figure out what would be best and plus affordable. We are getting married Oct 2008 and I'm trying to figure out what would be best for our honeymoon. I was looking into Carnival Cruise or Sandals. Is anybody doing either please give me any info or suggestion! I'm open!

We're going with a cruise. I figure it's a great vacation since it's all inclusive and you get to go to several locations. Check out www.bjsvacations.com They have great deals and you don't have to be a member. We went on a Carnival cruise last year and it was $249/person for 5 nights/4 days through BJs. Just don't book airfare with them, it's a bit pricey.

FH and I are doing St. Lucia Sandals! We heard so many good things about sandals that we finally just booked it! I liked it alot because EVERYTHING is included in your bill, food, drinks, even TIPS! its just nice knowing that everything is paid for BEFORE you go, this way all you need to bring money for is shopping

I'd go with Sandals or a different cruise line. Carnival is horrible! The food is bad, the service is bad and there are way too many kids. I cruised Royal Caribbean the second time around and saw what cruises should really be like. Hope this helps.

For a honeymoon, I would think a higher class ship would be best but our Carnival ship was amazing. I really think Carnival depends on the ship....

I don't want to be a downer (and mind you I've never cruised before so I don't know this first hand) but FH and I are going to do a cruise for the honeymoon too and multiple people that I've spoken to told me nto to do carnival. Even the ones who have had good experiences on Carnival say that Royal Caribbean is just so much nicer.
Like I said, don't take offense, i'm just sharing what others have told me.
p.s. - I'm almost positive that we are going with Royal Caribbean just based on what I've been told

sandals is my first choice i am thinkin either bahamas or antiga...i dont want to have to worry about having enought money for drinking food and souvineers.. with cruises you get killed with drinks allthough you get to see so many beautiful places

never been on a cruise. been to sandals 3 times.. 2 times in the bahams. I would totally recomment bahamas
the one thing i dont like about cruises is the limited amount of time you are actually at one place.

Royal Caribbean is a higher class line. I felt like a minority on Carnival, and if you know anything about food that is so not the cruise line to go on. If you're thing is hot dogs or fast food, then you'd love it I guess. Royal rocked us both!!!

If you're on a budget do a cruise. Sandals is expensive. And Carnival is great. I've cruise 6 times -- 5 on Cranival and one on Royal Caribbean. I hate RC and had a terrible experience (and personally, i didnt think the food was any better). Carnival is geared more towards people in their 20's and 30's with better night life and entertainment than most other lines. And as far as kids....it depends what time of year you go. As long as you're not going during spring break, you wont catch as many kids on carnival. JMHO, but I wouldnt decide which cruiseline to go on just based on people's opinions online because everyone's taste in food and service is different. But as far as which HM....if you're looing for an affordable HM, I'd do a cruise.

I'd personally do Sandals, but then again I HATED being on a cruise! If you never been on one before I say don't do one for your honeymoon. I think people end up loving it or hating it. Plus theres no booze included, and me and FH are drinkers, so we had like a $900 booze bill at the end of a 5 day cruise!

We couldnt decide what to do for HM... so we booked both! We are doing Sandals Dunn's River in Jamaica for 6 days then flying to Florida and doing a 7 day Royal Caribbean cruise to Mexico (Cancun, Cozymel and Belize).
We have been on Royal Caribbean before and loved them! HTH

We've been on Carnival too (as well as other lines) and after going on Royal & Princess & being used to a certain level of service, I left like I was constintly dissapointed. However in other aspects, Carnival was great, so it depends what your looking for. We had more in common w/ dining mates on Carnival than the other ships.
FH & I are considering Whitehouse Jamica (well I'm pushing for it, hm is up to him) With airfare, butler service accomadations &11 days it's around $7500 (for both of us), this is according to the website. We've yet to contact a travel agent tho.
We're still researching. We went away in March we spent a long weekend in West Palm Beach then a 6 day carnival Cruise with our bar tab, excursions, spa treatments, airfare & spending money included we prolly spent a lil over 5k, and we bought tons of drinks. FH likes to pick up the tabs of those, we would drink with, & a few nights he bought several bottles of wine for the whole table at dinner .

We're also doing St. Lucia Sandals- pretty much for the same reason.
We also had gone on and considered another Carnival cruise... it's a hard choice.

If you are drinkers, a cruise is def not for you, unless you plan on spending tons of money. All-inclusive resorts would be better. If you are into being with other people all all events, such as dinners, on-board activities and even in the jacuzzi, than a cruise is the way to go. The only negative thing about a cruise is that there is rarely any time or any place to be alone for any extended period of time.
