hey girls...anyone book a honeymoon with Sandles?? If so, where you going?? FH and I would loveee to go to Hawaii but then were sitting here wondering how were going to afford it after paying this wedding...Geez were even thinking about doing a honeymoon registry....b/c we've been living together for a year and we have everything. I mean who wouldnt need new towels and pots and stuff but were torn on how were going to pay for this without putting this on a credit card...thats the last thing we wanted to do is put this wedding on a credit card. So anyways...by the look of the Sandles its really nice....anyone have an estmate on how much it costs for a week to 10 days?? I would imagine its cheaper than 10 days in Hawaii right???

I did some research on Hawaii last year for a trip that I didn't take and it's a little pricey for me, especially while doing a wedding. I may save it for an anniversary. Sandals seems to be the best economical choice for me b/c everything is included. I've heard from other LIWers that you don't have to upgrade to a suite to have a great room. I've chosen Sandals Regency La Toc, St. Lucia. Sandals sent me a huge 'book'/brochure and I really like the look of this particular resort.

We booked oahu for 4 nights, maui for 6 nights. both trips are beautiful, but hawaii is definitely more expensive- but in the end me and FH figured it was a once in a lifetime trip that we would prob never be able to take again (once we get a house, get more expenses, have kids, etc) so we decided to save as much as we can in our wedding account to cover it. Also cut back in other places to save some $ (for example, low cp's instead of high, smaller bridal party, etc). Good luck whatever you decide!

Fh and I were originally going to do Sandal in St. Lucia...however that was going to cost us a small fortune...and I really didnt want to go to the caribbean (we go there every summer) I wanted somthing different so I looked into cruising around Hawaii. I dont know how much of a cruise fan you are but we have been on a few and like them. It was actually very cheap for us to go on a cruise and it stops at all the major islands for nice amounts of time. With airfare and a balcony room it cost us under 5k...HTH

would love to go to hawaii, but it is way too expensive. We are def going to look into a Sandals. All inclusive is the way to go and Sandals is both reputable and reasonable!

I know how you feel!
FH and I thought long and hard about where to go, but in the end we decided to honeymoon at the Royal Caribbean Sandals in Jamaica. I love the fact that everything is included (food, drinks, water sports/activities.) and Sandals has a wonderful reputation, and if you stay on an island with multiple Sandals, you can visit the other restaurants/resorts for free.

a friend of mine was living with her DH too for a year before they married. she did not register for any gifts for her shower since she had everything she needed but she did register for Hawaii through Liberty Travel. She said it was great and really cut theirout of pocket cost.
