OK So originally we were gonna go on our HM the week after the wedding (like a whole week after) but I started thinking about it and wanted to go right after the wedding, then when looking at flights the flights were significantly cheaper right after the wedding. Our wedding is Sunday night....is Tuesday too early to leave on the HM? The thing is we have to come back the same day either way (Thurs the following week) so if we go Tues we get 9 days and if we go Weds we get 8 but FH is being annoying and saying Tuesday is too quick whereas I don't think it is....thoughts?
Also- is it dangerous to book BEFORE putting in at work for the time? My boss know about the wedding and knows I'm taking a HM and I'll have the time earned I just don't want to talk to her about it yet I'd rather wait to closer til....thoughts?

I think Tuesday is ok... we were supposed to leave on Monday after a Friday wedding... as long as its that night or super early the next morning you'll be fine

we left our house at 6 am the monday after our saturday night wedding and it was totally fine! we even went out to lunch with a bunch of friends sunday afternoon and weren't cramped for time. tuesday is definitely ok

I think tuesday is fine. Just be all packed before the wedding day. This way you have most of Monday to relax.
I can't answer about booking before talking to your boss bc I don't know your boss. Will he/she flip? If not book it, if so then talk to her/him first. I know mine didn't so I booked and then let them know.

Tuesday is definetly fine
We are getting married on Sunday and leaving on Tuesday, we plan on finishing packing and saying goodbye to our families on Monday

We're getting married on Saturday, our wedding ends at 1am on Sunday morning and our flight takes off for our mini-moon at 7am on Sunday. Tuesday sounds good to me LOL!!!

We left Saturday morning after our Friday wedding. I loved that we did that. DH wanted to leave Friday night as soon as the wedding ended.
As for asking for the time off, you should do it ASAP. Its a courtesy, esecially if someone else will be doing your work when you are out.

I think it's fine. I'm all for having more honeymoon days. As far as your boss goes, it can go either way. If you book it, they can't really tell you no. I ran it by my boss via e-mail before officially putting in the time off request because we were anxious to book.

Our wedding is over at 1:30am on Saturday, our flight leaves at 7:30 AM on Sunday!!!

Of course thats enough time! We left our hotel at 10am the next morning and it was fine. Yea we were a little tired by the time we got to Hawaii but it was so much better to just be there already.

i agree with the others ... tuesday is fine (and will give you that extra day so that's always nice).
as far as yoru boss, it really depends on him. Mine only requires 2 months notice so i booked my HM before asking for the time off. you can always have a verbal conversation with your boss asking if you can let him know about your time off after you book.

We're getting married on a Friday and leaving for our HM Sunday morning.
I think having the buffer day in between is nice in case I don't get everything packed before the wedding, but plenty of people leave the morning after and are totally fine.

i think it's fine. we are doing the same thing. married on sunday and leaving Tuesday morning...figured Monday we can relax and finish packing. we are last minute packers!

I think its okay. I wanted to leave tuesday but because of the flights we aren't leaving until thursday. I'd be nervous about not having confirmation from your boss, but I feel like people are lenient about weddings
