Honeymoon to Hawaii...past & present brides PLS HELP!!

Hello ladies,

FH and I want to go to Hawaii but we dont know where to start or if we can even afford it.

Where are you staying? Which hotel(s) did you pick? How long are you going? did you book w/ travel agent or alone? How much was trip all together (approx)? OMG soooo many questions, sorry!!!! PLS HELP!!! I'm sooooo confused

hawaii is AMAZING!!!!

we went for 11 days/10 nights

Oahu (5 days/4 nights) - Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Maui (7 days/6nights) - Hyatt Regency Maui


we had a great time on both islands. Oahu is a little more city like but there is a lot to do. We looooved Maui which is a lot more laid back.

We booked a bunch of Excursions--

helicopter tour
surf lessons

Maui-

ziplining
Haleakala Crater Sunrise Bike Tour
Old Lahaina Luau
(and we did the Road to Hana)


We booked with a travel agent...FM if you want info.

I would say that with flight, hotels, rental car in maui, excursions, food, drinks, etc. we spent about 10k.

All I booked so far are the hotels..

5 nights 6 days at Grand hyatt Kauai

We booked thru a TA and that helped a lot. So far all we have are flights and hotels booked

5 nights Kauai - Grand Hyatt
6 nights Maui - Westin Maui
2 nights Oahu -Marriot Beach Resort

First trip (in '07) - 15 nights/16 days

2 nights Oahu - Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach
6 nights Kauai - Grand Hyatt
7 nights Maui - Hyatt Regency.

We used FF miles for airfare but with inter-island flights, hotels and rental cars, it was about $8,200

HM - (11/09) 22 nights/23 days

4 nights Oahu
8 nights Kauai
10 nights Maui

same hotels on the HM as on our first trip. Again, we used miles for the flights to and from Hawaii so we just paid for hotels, interisland airfare and rental cars - $7,251. Yes it was cheaper 2 years later because we were going off-peak and the economy was down so we got some good deals.

Once you factor in food and excursions, we probably spent about $11,000 total for both trips. If we were paying for the airfare, it probably would have been closer to $13,000.

You might want to look into cruises once you get there. We did 2 nights in Waikiki and then a 7 day cruise. The cruise was only $699pp but the 2 nights in Waikiki were $1000 by themselves just for the hotel.

We went on the Norweigian Pride of America which was great, but it wasn't the best cruise I've ever been on. I'm sure there are better ones out there.

We'll see what FH says, maybe we can eat peanut butter & jelly sandwiches for a couple of months after the honeymoon, LOL!!!!
