Do you ladies think its completely necessary to go through a travel agent?
I think I am getting a great deal through the Sandals website to go to Antigua and the airfare is included. It seems really reasonable to me, but I'm afraid I might be missing out on something if I don't consult with a travel agent.
Any opinions??????
UPDATE: I decided to go ahead and book it myself...
Thank you to all you lovely ladies who replied...
We're going to Sandals in Antigua- the Monte Carlo Honeymoon Oceanview suite !!

Re: Honeymoon: travel agent ?
Nothing wrong with just consulting with the TA. Just see what he/she can come up with and then compare. Try Travel Tom, you can just email him and have a quick phone call and he'll give you a price quote fairly quickly. If you find that your deal was better, than move on.

There's a web site you can contact and TA's will email you quotes... it's tripology.com I think. I'm going to double check it.. and make sure. But it doesn't hurt to see what deals they can get you. And if they aren't as good as what you found then you can always book what you found. It's always good to keep your options open but there is nothing wrong with booking a vacay without a TA.
I checked and it is definately tripology.com you contact them online and TA's will start emailing you quotes and information.

Re: Honeymoon: travel agent ?
We are actually doing the same thing right now. I found a pretty good deal I think through Orbitz.com but I am actually on the phone as we speak checking with Liberty Travel and Travel Tom (since they don't charge for their services anyway) and see what they say. I'm all about deal hunting!

ITA we did that, and found our deal was better so we booked it on our own!

Re: Honeymoon: travel agent ?
I would just call to see if they get you a better deal, otherwise book on your own. I booked my HM myself through Orbitz after researching the prices for months, they had the cheapest prices and the best flights.
Call if it would make you feel better, also I think with Sandals you can call them and deal directly with the Sandals agent.
