We just booked our honeymoon by calling expedia's 800 number. The woman was SO helpful and knowledgable. (e.g. FH told her he's really tall, and has had a blood clot in his leg in the past, so she made sure we had seats on all 4 flights w/plenty of leg room)---I wrote a whole post w/details, but got logged out and everything was erased! FM me for more details if you want. I HIGHLY recommend doing this!

You def. should. The woman we spoke to said that they send their agents to check out hotels and stuff all the time, just like regular travel agents, so whoever you get on the phone should be pretty knowledgable. Good luck!
