Re: Honeymooning in the US???
I am leaving the country but there are tons of trips you can do. I've always wanted to road trip down the Pacific Coast. See the Red Woods, visit Napa, finally go to an In and Out! It depends on what you and your FH are into.
I've been to Key West and absolutely loved it! It wasn't like being in Florida!
Key West is beautiful. Honestly, once your there you feel like your out of the country and on some exotic island!

West COast. Start up North in Washington or Oregon and drive down through California making stops a long the way. It's such a beautiful drive!!!!! I Cali.
You could stop in Napa Valley, and then go down all the way to San Diego and relax on the beach.
So peaceful and beautiful out there.

We had considered going to California and driving up the west coast. It's still definitely a vacation we want to take, we just decided against it for our HM.

Re: Honeymooning in the US???
I'm going to Canada, our northern neighbor. I'm kind of obsessed with Canada, and FH suggested either Arizona/Vegas or Nova Scotia.
Since it'll be crazy hot in the American Southwest when we're planning to HM, we opted for Nova Scotia.
Can't wait. It's not a long flight, but we're actually thinking of driving to Maine and taking the ferry from Portland or Bar Harbor over to Nova Scotia. You need a car when you get there anyway, and FH has never really seen New England, so why not?
Arizona and Vegas would've been fun too, because we were looking into hiking the Canyon, spending some time at a nice spa/resort in Arizona, and then going to Vegas...it would just be hot as balls there (we'd be going in July) so it wouldn't have been enjoyable.

We're not...I don't fly. So we're thinking a road trip...we're just not sure which direction we're going to go yet. Cross country west, south, maybe up to Canada (ok that's out of the country but no flying)
We'll possibly go to the Poconos, go down south to Florida, and then hook around to New Orleans w/ other stops in between

I recommend Southern California - you can do everything from tourist attractions to relaxing on the beach. It's my fave US vaca spot.

Re: Honeymooning in the US???
I highly recommend California. Southern California is just beautiful and so much to do. You could stay in La Jolla in San Diego...Santa Monica in LA. Both have beatuiful hotels in the area. Orange County is also amazing...and you could go to Disney. Northern CA has Napa wine region, Sausalito, San Fran. Depending on what you like...you could plan an amazing trip.
Hawaii is in the US :) I would pick that above all else!
And New Orleans...one of my favorite cities. It's a party town, but you could make it a very romantic trip.

I went to ollege in New Orleans so I can definitely recommend some very romantic restaurants, tours, etc. Its my favorite city in the world (and that's saying a lot)!
We did a Sonoma trip last year and stayed in an amazing B&B which an amazing honeymoon suite....I think that would be amazing too!
