Re: Honeymoonm help : Travel agent or ourselves ???
Do you know anyone that's a travel agent? Or someone who knows someone that's a travel agent?? Usually they will give you discounts if they are helping out a friend. I'd say go with the travel agent though - why add onto your already stressful planning period?!? Besides, they can get you some great deals!

If you want a cruise I really recommend Dawn from Cruise One...she's a vendor on here. I got a great price with some extras thrown in (like ship credit). She's great to work with and e-mails back so quickly. This is one of the first times I have used a travel agent and I noticed she got better deals than anything i found online myself.

I say try both Contact a few travel agents (minimum 3) and see who will give you a better price. While you do that you will get some ideas and recommendations as well (if you don't really know where you want to go)
Also, do a lot of research on trip advisor and expedia and compare prices. You should have an idea of what an internet website is offering, but don't let the travel agent know about the price you got and see if they do better. If they can't then see if they will match expedia, some of them will.
One thing I can definetely tell you is that.....Your honeymoon will involve some research, don't take anybody's word without you doing your research first. FH and I spent a month doing research and we contacted 5 different travel agents recommended here. We ended up booking through Expedia and got a better deal and more things thrown in the deal. We called Expedia personally for such
Travel agents might work for some but not for others. I can say I did not have the best experience or quotes from all 5 we contacted.

We used a travel agent and I am so glad we did. We are going on a Hawaii cruise but we are stopping at Los Angeles for a few days. Then, after the cruise we are going to Las Vegas. So with all the places we are going, all the hotels, and transportation we will need I am glad we went with Empress Travel in Bayside. We don't have to worry about a thing. She does everything and just lets us know when to pay. I say do it through a travel agency and save yourself the hassle.
