Honeymoons

My Fh is a teacher and we plan on going on our honeymoon in the summer, we are getting married in the early spring. However, we would like to go away somewhere just to get away and spent quality time together right after the wedding. We have been kicking around NYC, etc. Does anyone have any ideas or what they are going to do if they are in a similiar situation? He plans on taking off about 3 to 4 days.

would you consider the poconos or block island?

We have been talking about the Poconos, do you know anything about them , where to stay , etc, also where is Block Island?

heres the poconos website:

http://www.poconos.org/main.html

Block Island is bewtween Montauk & Rhode Island & Connecticut...search the web for it.

I think the poconos is more romantic and MUCH more to do.

Let us know what you decide!

Definitely go to the poconos, Ceasar's Cove Haven, its like a little 'Love Village'. Its in PA, a couple of hours drive away. Its all couples they have all those funky rooms or a regular room if that's what you prefer, all food is included, shows every night, activities, most things are included, well except for alcohol. Its pretty cool.

I know a GREAT place in the Poconos you could go to & I have a referral card that would save you 10%. It is one of my favorite places to go for a nice little getaway.

Let me know!

Caesers is the best but I like Paradise Stream MUCH better!!!!

Cove Haven is too big, Paradise Stream is nice & small, cozy & intimate.

Much Better!!!!

Newport RI Is wonderful. Can be very romantic.
Lots to do. Not too far to drive, about 4hours. We have been many times and always love it. If you need hotel suggestions email or forum mail me.
Good luck!

Re: Honeymoons

We did the same exact thing and it was great!!!

There was no worrying about honeymoon packing or papers and confirmations...

we went to the montauk manor and it was PERFECT for this situation...It is a huge Tudor Mansion that sits ontop of a hill overlooking all of Montauk, the ocean and Montauk Harbor...it was wonderful...

I second Newport. We spent our honeymoon there after 9/1 since we couldn't do our overseas honeymoon. We had the best time! Spring will be a great time to go!

Mystic, Newport or Cape Cod would be nice. It's an easy drive up there too!
