Who else is going to Italy? We're working with our travel agent now to figure out an itinerary. I was just trying to see what you girls are doing. TIA.

We're doing Florence, Venice and Rome. She is having us stop at Naples, Tuscany, Sorrento. How many days are you going for?

Re: Honeymoons in Italy
Are you really staying in Naples? I don't know if it has gotten any better since 2000, but I would not recommend it. When we took the hydrafoil to Capri, our port was Naples. Kind of sketchy.

Hey! We're stopping in Italy! Definitely Rome because I need to see the Pantheon! Long story. :) Then we hope to rent a car and drive down the coastline. Stay somewhere either along the Amalfi Coast or Cinque Terre. This will be our scheduled down time. Hehe. Probably 3 days or so total in Italy before we head to the next country.

Me too! What school?
We are going to Italy our itinerary is: Paris, 4 nights Florence 4 nights Capri 5 nights
Let me know if you need / want hotel recs . . . my mom's a TA and is booking for us. Our hotel in Florence and Capri is SICK
ETA - I feel like I'm forgetting something. We were originally doing Rome as well, but decided to cut it because of all the moving around we're doing. I guess that's it. We did have a nice hotel in Rome too, if you are interested.

Re: Honeymoons in Italy
we're not but FH's two brothers each went to italy on their HMs (and countless other times, FILs were born and raised there).
we were talking to FBIL & FSIL last week and they were telling us about their HM, they went to capri, well their plane landed and they had to take this like boat to capri... in the middle of the boat was a bucket, yea.. you can guess why... FSIL was sick, along with most of the others on the boat, FBIL tried to stand up to grab something for her and was 'pinballed' across the boat and ended up being thrown back into his seat... according to them, its the most common way to get to capri, so anyone going- take lots of dramamine.

I wouldn't be too discouraged - I've been to Capri already and it's the only way to get there. It's really not that dramatic - maybe they had bad weather or the water was rough?

Re: Honeymoons in Italy
Just want to throw this out there for you ladies.
Consider looking into booking a studio apt or similar rather than a hotel room. Unless you want the really nice room with service and all that. I found a studio apt in Rome with a view of the Colosseum for less than $100US a night.
VRBO.com or homeaway.com
Much much more affordable than most hotel rooms. And that particular studio even cheaper than some hostels.

Ooh that sounds great. I am using someone but might want to change. Which hotels are you staying in?
We went to Paris last year and loved it. Let me know if you want any recommendations for restaurants, etc.
Our Itinerary is going to be:
Venice - 3 days Florence - 3 days Rome - 4 days Capri - 4/5 days
TIA.

Re: Honeymoons in Italy
I'm going to Italy... starting in Rome, then a week in Tuscany (we are very into wine) and then Florence. I wanted to do the Amalfi as well but it really isn't warm when we'll be there so we'll do the coast in a separate trip. We booked it on our own and have great hotels, so let me know if you need more info.
