I'm an October Bride and I booked my HM about two weeks ago at Excellence Punta Cana in DR. Flight for October 2010 aren't out yet though.

I figure there is no getting around hurricane season, so all you can do is hope for the best. If you are looking to avoid having to worry about this, you can check out Aruba.

Just want to throw this out there if you stay at any of the Sandals locations and get stuck in a hurricane you get a free vacation and with the free vacation you can go back to any of the Sandals.

Eeek I didn't know it was hurricane season!! We are going to Greece (our RH gives it to us!) so I don't think I will be affected by hurricane season..? I think flight information comes out around one year in advance, so that is when I'll be checking.

Flights are cheaper the sooner you book, right?

We booked a Sandals honeymoon about 3 weeks ago...Hurricane season, we are going to chance it and hope for the best (I do have to say though, I had NO clue if there is a hurricane while you are at a Sandal's you get a free vacation...thats kinda cool that they would do that...)

Sorry to crash...
You'll be fine in Greece. FH and I are going in Sept (of this year) so we could avoid all the other hurricane prone locations.
And flight aren't necessarily cheaper the earlier you book. I just rechecked our flight and it's about $100 cheaper per person now versus when we booked.
