Re: hong long did it take for alterations??

To be honest, they could have done everything for me in one fitting - all I needed was a little nip in the bust area, a hem, and bustle. Nothing else.

But at my salon, they did the fitting of the dress (bodice) first - realized I just needed to have it taken in a bit in the bust. Then I came back to try on again and they marked it for the hem and to determine the bustle. Then the last fitting I went in to try it on with the hem and bustle done - nothing else was needed so they said they'd steam it for me and to come in the day before the wedding to pick it up.

Usually you need to go in at least twice - one fitting and one time to try it on to see the alterations done and then they can determine if you need more fittings. Don't worry, if time is an issue, they always take that into account and can do things very quickly!

I only needed one fitting and it was done in a few days. My alterations didn't start until August and my wedding was Sept. 3. They can do them on the spot if need be - don't worry!

I bet all of the alterations could be done quickly for you provided you don't need to have major work done to the dress. If the store did their job and matched your measurements to what the maufacturers specifications said, you should be fine. Don't stress out though! I'm sure you're going to be fine!

My first fitting was the beginning of October. I only needed to have it taken in a little bit on the top of the bodice, but since it's all beaded, they have to re-do some of the beading where it was taken in. It should be done by my 3rd fitting on Tuesday. Seriuosly though, don't worry about it. It will get done on time and it will look beautiful!!!

I went for 4 fittings which is not usual. I started my fittings at the end of July which was 2 months before the wedding and then picked up my dress 4 days prior to my wedding.

4 weeks, I usedPhyllis at Bridal Elegance, she did an awesome job and I kept putting off the alterations thinking I would lose the weight!

Don't worry, I have yet to see a bride walk down the aisle naked!

Deanna- my bridal shop thinks my wedding is 12/8 and my first fitting is November 12th. I think you have plenty of time.

i wouldn't worry about it ... i had my first fitting the beginning of october and go back next week for the my second one. they need to take in the sides a bit, shorten the halter straps and take in the bodice, which means they need to redo all of the beadwork there. they spaced it out because it was just easier for me that way. (hopefully all will be done next week so i won't have to have a third fitting.)

like the girls said previously, you should have plenty of time. nothing to worry about!

Usually you will have 2-3 fittings~that is the norm, so it should take only a few days even if it comes in late
