Honor Lost

I wanted to share a bit of info on a great book I just finished reading. Honor Lost
If you notice the first few 'negative' reviews are written by people who live in the country that is discussed in this book. Jordan, along with many other countries, allows Honor Killings. This book is written by a women whose best friend was killed by her own father because he found out that she was secretly dating a man. This father has the 'right' under the law to kill his wife or daughter or even sister if he feels (with no proof needed) that she is putting the family honor at stake. In fact, the man is considered a hero to many for doing it.
I highly suggest that you read this book. It reads like a novel. You will have your eyes opened about what goes on it 'modern' day Jordan. I now plan on NEVER supporting anything that country sells or does until it begins to see Women as more than property and values their lives.

I am putting it on my reading list. Sounds interesting. But now I am working through the handmaid's tale

Michele, wow. Its interesting to see the black/white reviews based on where the reviewers are from...

I was shocked to think that the men from these countries would think that American women are so dumb that we couldn't see why they were trashing the book!

Those reviews were quite interesting. I haven't read the book and I think some of the reviews were quite biased. However, if some of the points they make are true. The book may have some serious flaws. With that said, I will add it to my list and make my own judgement.
