What are some good ways to honor a parent that is deceased?
FFIL passed away earlier this week. He had been sick w/ lung cancer for 2 1/2 years- but he was soo excited for the wedding and was looking better just 3 weeks ago. FFIL was at FH's cousins wedding last month and FH mentioned that he wanted to make a speech (thanking my parents for helping w/ the wedding and he also wanted to mention how happy he was that his father could be there to enjoy the wedding). Unfortunately things took a turn for the worst and FFIL won't be there We spoke w/ our officiant about lighting a candle for FFIL but what are other good ways to honor a parent that is deceased?
Since the wedding is 3 weeks away I think it will still be really hard for FH to give a toast/speech honoring his father.
I am so very sorry. Your post brought me to tears. I cant imagine a parent passing period yet so close to the wedding. You are in my thoughts. Perhaps ask future hubby how he would like to have him best honored ... Again so sorry!

So sorry to hear about your loss!
I really love the bouquet charm idea. Another thing is maybe have some kind of a memorial candle for him at the RH with a picture in a frame next to it.

So sorry for your loss. I think a nice photo with the candle is a beautiful way to honor him. Maybe his wedding photo?

Maybe you could get up photos and a memorial candle at the RH? I really like the idea of bouquet charms as well.

What about if you dance to his favorite song? What if FH and his mother dance to his father and mothers wedding song and the Dj makes an announcement? I am so sorry for yours and FHs loss.
