Anyone doing a special honoring/gift exchange during the ceremony to their parents? I would love to do this for mine, they have been the best parents anyone could ever ask for and I'm thankful for all they've done and sacrificed for me. But I'm not sure how to go about this. And what gift should I present them with? I don't want any old thing or the typical flowers. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions??

Honoring/Gifting Parents - Help!
I'm not doing any of that honestly because all that will do is hurt feelings. My parents are divorced and both are remarried so it would just be too much for me and FH. ESPECIALLY during our ceremony. In our situation I think feelings would just end up hurt but we have special circumstances.
What I do plan on doing however is taking my mom and FMIL out on separate occasions to thank them for everything and giving them a token of my affection. I have NO idea what I would get for my mother because she is truly my everything and I get emotional just thinking about it. For my FMIL I will probably get her something that says 'Thank you for raising your son to be the man of my dreams' like a photo frame or something like that.
Instead of doing something during your ceremony you could do something during the reception where you have the DJ play your parents wedding song and present them with something like a weekend away as a thank you for all that they have done or something like that.
ETA: Also... just keep in mind then your FH parents might expect something... so maybe arrange something for them as well. But I guess thats really up to your FH.

We plan on giving gifts and thanking them at the RD not the ceremony. FH mother passed away last year and we will include a prayer in memory of her in the mass and do something special for her at the ceremony as well.
