I lurk on here from time to time but I'm officially part of the 2013 brides , and there's no topic board for the '13 team yet lol.. I didn't expect it. Especially because of the fact that I am probably the farthest away from my wedding date haha It's so far away!!!

Do you guys get the reaction: 'Why so far awaaaay?' because I get that a lot and it's really annoying, I guess in the end what people think shouldn't matter. I feel that Being engaged is about taking your relationship to the next level, and that 1,2,3,4, 5 years are just numbers, as long as you're so hapy and in love, it shouldn't matter. I've had people say 'if it's going to take that long then why did you get engaged' and quite honestly that's really rude. Haha wanna pay for my wedding negative nancy?

I've been with FH for 3 and 1/2 years and I'll be done with school next year in 2011, at first we wanted to set a 2012 date, but we decided that in order to have what we had always dreamed of, we would have to wait another year to save even more money. So I decided that I'm officially going to start booking vendors next year, when I'm done with school, so that would give us 2 years of planning, booking and saving (still a long time right? lol).

Haha sorry about the little vent here, just wanted to come out of the dark and tell you all CONGRATULATIONS, wish you all a very happy, stress-free planning and see if you all don't mind my crashing

And I get that ALL THE TIME!

It's so annoying. When we got engaged everyone kept asking, what's the date what's the date?! So when we finally told everyone 2012, they said why so long blah blah blah. I got sick and tired of telling people that we want to save money and do it right! We know what we want and we know that we can't save enough money in just a year!

Don't worry time FLIES by, we got engaged in December, and at that point our wedding was 2 years away... well already it's already almost 1 year and a half away!!! So don't worry about what people say, until you are actually planning a wedding, they don't understand that not everyone gets their wedding paid for by other people!

Don't worry about lurking at all, or posting on here, I have been going on the 2011 board because this one is always so empty! Soon hopefully we will get more 2012 brides, and a board for 2013 will be added!

i feel the samee exact way u dooo.. ive been with fh for 5 years and this past jan already made a year weve been engaged soo by the time we tie the knot we will be together 7 years and engaged for almost 3 and a half!

What matters is that use are happy n we also hear ppl all the time like why waste so much time saving when u can go right into a house with that money but in the end if its your money u r the only one who counts!

I get that all the time because I am at the end of 2012 so I know the feeling of waiting so long!!! I can't believe we are engaged 7 months already!!!

But when I first got engaged there was no 2012 board either and I emailed LIWeddings and asked them to make one, so thats why there is one for 2012 brides since I was the first 2012 bride on here!

But you will soon be addicted to this site, and learn things you didnt even know about weddings. It's a great site and does get addicting!

Your welcome! Yes I'm a CLM bride! We visited like 13 other places and CLM was our last and as soon as we walked in we knew it was it! We met with Nick, he was amazing.. Then we went for a taste testing with our parents and booked on the spot since we all loved it so much, plus the food is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.<3

im an 11 bride but i know exactly how you feel FH and i got engaged Dec. of 08 and we just started our whole wedding process now...

People kept asking us when we were getting married and all i could say is we are still looking because we want to save money and do it the right way just like you said.

Our friends were getting engaged and married before we even booked a place but after a while i just said who cares what other ppl think. You are doing it the right way!! Booking as early as possible is the best thing to do.. you will have a strict timeline as to what you have to save and you will know EXACTLY how much you will need for when your time comes!!!

Believe me the time will fly and before you know it you will be a MRS.

I joined the website so I can start getting an idea of what we're going to do, gettin an idea of how the RHs look like, and the quotes so we know how much to save =)
I guess time will fly pretty fast, next year when we start booking it will be 2 years away , and also I'll start working because I'll be graduated (let's all pray haha this program is very difficult) so from now on, it's about saving $ and looking ahead
..time really will fly by!

Time will definitely fly by, but at least we are all in this long *** journey together!

Being on this site makes me so excited to plan, sometimes I get very antsy... I posted about that the other day. But truth be told, I am happy we decided to wait. I feel like it's so much less pressure on everyone including our parents who are helping to pay. And this way you can stretch everything out!! Don't forget there's so much to look forward to! We are having an engagement party this summer so we can have fun planning that now, and then there will be showers, bachelorette parties galore!
