DO NOT BOOK EAGLE CARRIAGE!!
I just wanted all planning Brides to not go through what I went through!
I wanted the cinderella coach for my wedding. It was what I always dreamed about...

I am in no way trying to justify what this company has done. I think it's absolutely unacceptable that they did not show up for Melissa's wedding and have not spoken to her about this horrible situation.

However, Ayanna, as for the difference in price, could it be the time of year the weddings are or maybe the time of day, or even the day itself. Saturday nights are typically the most expensive for booking things as opposed to Friday or Sunday nights. June and September tend to be the most expensive months.

Ayanna-

Sad but true,I think that a lot of them definitely do gauge you based on your reception site. Especially with the more costly places. If I heard a vendor make a comment like that, I would leave. We can't know what they say when they're in private but to say something like that so another prospective customer can overhear it so unprofessional. And to say it directly to another bride!? Poor taste. When we looked at photographers, we saw one whose presentation initially turned me off to them. For a place that wants our business to employ front people who gab away on personal stuff and do their hair in the mirror while we are looking at the albums, that's a vendor who doesn't seem to take pride in their reputation. With a glut of vendors out there, it is not worth it.

Ayanna & Elizabeth,

Sadly, the way of the general business world is not customer friendly, it's simply making money. If only these places would just realize how over the long term, especially in this industry, word of mouth could mean a gold mine. Let's face it, just at this site alone look at all the good comments that are shared...along with the negative comments. Now imagine all those out there on Long Island and in the city that don't come to this site but go away with definite feelings regarding weddings they have attended.

Well I just found out some news about my horse and buggy situation. It seems that since I am only 1 block away from the church and the price was according to that one block (which was very expensive but I had my heart set on the whole Cinderella horse and buggy thing) They did do another wedding that was a further distance and chose to spend the extra $$ to go to the reception site. So bascially they ignored my contract and wanted to make more money. But they had no problem calling me 8 weeks before my wedding to make sure I knew my 2nd installment was due. It is terrible that any bride should have to deal with this on such a happy wonderful day! Does anyone have any suggestions what steps I should take to help other people not to use them?

Be sure to look for quality in the pictures. For example, I saw a picture of a couple near a lake and all you could see was the bird poop on the cement. The photographer should blend that out.

Decide on how many pictures you want in your album, if you want parent albums, etc. Shop around and see how many pictures are offered in a package and what the going rates are. That way you can get more for your money.

Good advise. A contract is a contract, and just because a more profitable opportunity exists, it does not excuse their obligations to you. That is why we have contracts in the first place.

Notify the better business bureau.
I may be able to scan pictures of what the room looks like decorated, etc.

Just my opinion... don't rule out Eagle. My dad works with Sam, the owner, and says that he is very professional. I'd give him a call, meet with him and then make a decision. I believe the experience of those on this board is the exception.. and who knows.. it could even be a competitor posing as a bride!
