were you sore after the first time you went horseback riding? i want to do that on our honeymoon in tahiti, but i don't wanna risk it if we're just going to be in pain afterwards!

The first time ever when I went I was a kid, dont really remember. You probably will be sore if you never went before. Just wear pants!!!! No matter how hot it is. I LOVE to go riding. I went on my honeymoon, and they took the saddles off and we rode them in the water. It was an AMAZING experience.

Well my dad has owned 2 horses since I was small so I got to enjoy this growing up. I learned to ride bareback, although I only did it a few times, it's a wonderful experience. Definately go horseback riding on your honeymoon, you'll love it!!! edited to say you may be a litle sore but nothing that will stop you from enjoying yourself the remainder of your honeymoon

I wasnt sore but i was SCARED!! LOL....at the time i was like over 200lbs so you have to tell them how much you wiegh so they can give you the proper horse... well since i was SOO heavy, they came out with this horse that was like as tall as the empire state building!!! i didnt even think it was a real horse... it took like 10 minutes for me just to get on.. and im scared of heights.,..it was fun AFTER i got used to it, and i wouldnt let the guy who walks in front leave me alone for like ONE minute!!

Ohh Jenn you are soo lucky!! I LOVE horses..when I was younger I took lesson for years. Now it's just an expensive hobby to keep up. Maybe in the future.
If I go now on a trail ride..I do get a bit sore..Nothing that you couldn't handle. Maybe do it closer to the end of the trip?

I went horsebackriding on the beach on my honeymoon also ! IT was sooo beautiful !!!!!!!!!
GO FOR IT ! Its not that bad. you might feel bow-legged for an hour or so, no big deal !

I was a little sore ... my lower back from leaning in and my butt! I definitely agree with the ladies here, you have to do it, it's so much fun! I was scared too, like Suzanne, but you get over the inital fear after a while and I had a calm horse. Why don't you plan the horse riding excursion towards the end of your honeymoon, so if you're sore, it won't matter to much! Have fun!

You may be a little sore around your thighs as sitting in a saddle tends to stretch those muscles a bit.
For safety sake, bring a pair of shoes or boots with a smooth sole and a bit of a heel. Riding in sneakers may be more comfortable but it can be a bit dangerous as your foot could slide through the stirrup and get caught. Better be safe than sorry!

Definitely do it. It doesn't really hurt and usually the horses are extrememly gentle when they do trail rides like that. My mom and I went in Barbados and since my mom was so nervous- they kept her horse on a leash.

It is such a wonderful experience! Especially on the beach, be prepared though inner thighs, and butt will be soar...
