Hosiery/lingerie issue - need requests (a bit verbose)

Hosiery/lingerie issue - need requests (a bit verbose)

As a few of you have read when I posted my fitting pics, it has been determined that the best way to avoid lines (b/c my dress in one layer of thick silk that shows everything) is to go commando or find a teeny g-string. I hate thongs and g-strings but I hate commando more. G-string it is.

Anyway, I had wanted to wear pantyhose but even though the pantyhose does not show lines, it does push things in awkward places thus creating back fat and lumps. My dress does not afford me the option of back fat and there is nothing worse than a bride who looks like she is stuffed in a sausage casing.

My shoes are closed toe and I simply cannot wear closed toe shoes without stockings because my feet sweat and swell. I won't wear peds because if the photographer gets one of those photojournalistic shots of my feet and peds show, the $180 I spent on my shoes (over spend of the wedding I know so no comments please) will be cheapened. I'm shallow.

So to make a long story even LONGER, I am thinking g-string with thigh highs. Thigh highs are yet another undergarment that I do not care for very much but understand the necessity in this case. My feeling is that if you dont have perfect legs, they look stupid and NOT sexy. While my legs are long, they are not perfect. However, I am not going for sexy here but functional.

If there are any brides out there who have experience with comfortable thigh highs that do not slide, please let me know.

Sorry so long but Ive got 28 days to be a legitimate wack job then Ill leave you all alone.

Leggs makes really good thigh highs. You can usually find them in the pantyhose section of any pharmacy. The tricky part is FINDING THEM. They usually are in a dark box (navy or black) and an orange stripe on top indicating they're thigh highs. I don't remember the name of the exact type. Might be Sheer Elegance or something like that. I'm going out today, so if I see a pair of nude or white ones, I'll pick you up a pair.

I don't know how good the thigh highs from Victoria's Secret are. I bought 2 pairs from them once, and one of them ripped almost instantly after 5 minutes of wear. Which upset me because they were gorgeous. (black fishnets with a bow in the back and the line up the middle)

I use VS thigh highs (fh LOVES THEM)...they are really smooth going on, and though a little delicate, will surely get you through you wedding with no problem.

I second VS thigh highs - they are delicate, but they don't pinch very much the way that pantyhose do, and the elastic at the top has amazing hold. You may want to try more than one size though - I find I do better when they're a size bigger than what the chart says I am.

I wear VS thigh highs. They have a strip of rubber on the top of them that keep them from sliding. I love them! Very comfy!

I like Hanes thigh-his. They stay up all day, and tend not to rip.
