Re: Hospitality Suite

A hospitality suite is usually only offered - on occassion - to a guest that is already booked at the hotel free-of-charge. For example, a hospitality suite would be used by a guest who checked out but had time to chill at the pool before going to the airport. The hospitality suite would provide him/her with a place to change and maybe shower.

Your grandmother probably means a 'getting ready' room for your guests....you can sort of look at it in this case like a bridal suite for other people.

It's a meeting room where people can gather and have light food and drinks before the wedding and in some cases after the wedding (if you have an after party).

Hi I am renting the hospitality suite the morning of my wedding ~ I am sleeping at the hotel the night before and want my BM to be with me in the am as I am getting dressed ~ so I have the suite at 8:00 am and usually it is a fancy room to get together and have as a meeting place the morning of the wedding (for pictures etc) I will have coffee and some snackies for everyone who comes by so they have something to munch on! I would go see the rooms at the Melville Marriott ~ if you call they they will hook you up with someone (sales representative) and you can go see all the different rooms they offer ~ I am using Marriott (not Melville but I am sure they are all similar) also my hotel had 3 different rooms (Presidential/Hospitality and something else I forgot) if you have any other questions FM anytime!

I actually am going to disagree with you. We had a hospitality suite the day before the wedding. It was held in a conference room in the hotel and it was for all of our OOT guests, they recieved a note when they checked in about it. We had beer, wine and soda and snacks. My parents hosted it and mainly it was nice for us b/c a lot of my family had never met my DH's family and they got a chance to before the wedding madness began.

I don't know what a 'getting ready' room is though.

This is what I thought as well. FH and I are renting a hospitality suite for an after-wedding 'gathering' since most of our friends are rarely ready for bed at 12. It gives them a place to continue the party.

Thanks for the help so far.

FH and I will be getting ready at the ceremony/reception area. We're looking at is as more of an afterparty location.

EGreen- Same type of thing. Most of our oot guests are out friends from college (we went to Plattsburgh)

Do we pay for the snacks, beer etc? Is is it BYOB? Do you have to use the hotel's food? Can't we just party in the hotel rooms? (but not too rowdy of course)

Is is conference room size? Does it cost extra?

Re: Hospitality Suite

The downside of partying in the hotel room is that the person who's room it is usually ends up with a trashed room.

A lot of times the hospitality suite is away from the guest rooms so there aren't complaints. It also is easier to hang out in because there are tables and no bed and it's bigger.

I've been to parties where the bride and groom have stocked it, ones where the wedding party stocked it, and ones where people just brought coolers and shared.

ETA: Some hotels will throw it in for free if you have enough rooms blocked or whatnot, some charge you for it.

ETA: Also, some hotels ones mainly who serve food and alcohol, will make you get a bartender and the alcohol from them.
