anyone doing a host and hostess at the reception??? my mom asked who we were having but i didn't plan on having any. not sure what the really do or the purpose of them, i don't recall seeing them at any of the receptions i have been to lately.

yes, me too-- i have never heard of that
interesting, maybe try looking it up-- otherwise just tell her that you are not doing that. or better yet: FH and you are the host and hostess!! lol
LOVE the pup in your avatar BTW-- is that a mini schnauzer? FH and I got one in April-- we love her!

I was someone's 'hostess' once but, i don't know if I really was or if that's just what they called me.
I handed out programs and got people to sign the guest book. The bride put me in the program as her 'hostess'.

Jobs of the host and hostess are, to greet the guests as they come into the reception, help the caterer. Make sure everyone is happy, not too cold or hot. Put out food for night time snacking. Make sure all the stuff gets to the couples house. The job is to make sure the day goes by without a hitch
