I had put in a proposal for rooms yesterday and got back an e-mail that it was going to be $130 per night. Are they insane? Are these the rates you guys are getting. If not please give me some that have given cheaper rates. Because this one is nuts

I don't know which hotel you went to but that;s the rate i got from the Melville Marriott (who we are using) - Huntington Hilton was even more expensive!

Re: Hotel Accomadations
I think this was the JFK Sheraton but I am not for sure. That is crazy. I would rent a house for the month with the cost to fit just my immediate family in all those rooms

Re: Hotel Accomadations
I was quoted $139 from Hampton Inn-Brookhaven and $130 from the Holiday Inn Express- Stony Brook. I thought this was insane too....

Re: Hotel Accomadations
I got $89 and $99 at the Quality Hotel in Hempstead and $135 at the LI Marriott in Uniondale.
The new Hilton Garden Inn wanted $159 and $169 for their rooms. I couldn't beleive it when the lady said that.

Re: Hotel Accomadations
My rates were definitely higher than that. $199 (The Inn at Fox Hollow). I think $139 is reasonable (JMO)

Re: Hotel Accomadations
yes they are insane, but unfortunately, IMO for anything 'decent' you are forced to pay $125 and up. it's complete bull$*#t, but how it works...

Re: Hotel Accomadations
We paid $109/ night Sat night at Melville Marriot, however this was with a lot of talking them down.... The norm rate is $135. I think the rate you found sounds good.

Re: Hotel Accomadations
It depends on your days too. I'm booking Memorial Day weekend with a soccer Tournament in town, so we're at $145 at the Melville Marriot with a 2 night minimum. The Hilton wouldn't even let me block! I got the Fairfield Inn in Syosset for $125, no minimum.

Re: Hotel Accomadations
This is nuts....These rates are really crazy. I am from a small town in NM and never thought that it would cost this much. My family is staying for almost two weeks, maybe I should just find a nice condo or something at these prices.

Re: Hotel Accomadations
Just called the Wingate in Garden city and it is $129 per room and if you have 15 rooms booked they have a shuttle van round trip for 14 people free. IF you need more than one trip it is $130 round trip.
