Hotel Accomodations

Hotel Accomodations

So, getting married at WM in February. I think FH and I will stay the night at the Garden City Hotel. WM recommended 3 hotels in the area...but here's my question. I dont have a lot of out of towners...those who are will stay with family most likely anyway. I would like to give people an option to get a hotel by including it in the invitation but do I need to 'block Out' rooms for this or can I just write...here are hotels in the area blah blah blah?

I think if you block rooms, you have to guarantee a certain #. I am not sure if that is for all places, but my brother had to do it. I would try to figure out who would want to stay in a hotel (since you said you don't have that many). This way you can block rooms if necessary. Otherwise just have your OOTG book their own rooms and just give them a few hotels in the area to choose from.

we blocked rooms at la quinta (garden city) and we did not have to guarantee anything. we also are getting a better rate for our guests (was $20 cheaper than online rate at the time, is $60 cheaper than online rate now) and any rooms not booked by a month before our wedding are just released to the general public.

even if you block 10 its worth it because it saves your guests money.

agree completely! Most hotels do not require anything....and if they did, I wouldn't book with them! You will always get a guaranteed rate for your guests though!

I would ask if the GC Hotel has any consturction going on. The last time I saw it, it was going condo and they were doing a lot of work.
