Hotel Bags for out of towners
What are you putting in these bags? Did anyone get info from the Long Island Tourism Board and if so what did they provide. Thanks!

Re: Hotel Bags for out of towners
I put a letter with directions to the church, granola bars, bottled water, twizzlers, trail mix, cookies, gum, a brochure of LI and a coupon to a winery.

I haven't actually made my bags yet, but girls seem to put in candy, gum, different snacks, bottled water, and some even include tylenol for the next morning... :-) I think you could go to a BJ's wholesale place and just buy everything in bulk.

We went to the train car off the LIE. They gave us a whole box of brochures about LI. They were great. Where did you get wine coupons? That would be a great addition.

Re: Hotel Bags for out of towners
Okay I am not exactly clear on the out-of-toen bags. Do you give them to everyone at the wedding for the out of town guest or leave them at the hotel, or,what. This is the first time I have heard of this.

They are left in the rooms of the out of town guests when they first check in! It's a nice little surprise.

You should also include contact #'s for you and your bridal party. Or any other important #'s they might need.

Re: Hotel Bags for out of towners
I'm having WAY too many hotel guests to make baskets for everyone (my guests aren't exactly own of towners they are just Queens/Nassau people that don't want to drive home from Suffolk county on a Friday night at 1:00am
) Anyway, we are going to give each hotel guest a 9 piece box of Godiva chocolate.
They will not need directions because there is free shuttle service to and from the hotel to the hall.

Re: Hotel Bags for out of towners
I tried to get them from the LI tourism, but they said they don't give them out anymore. I went to the chamber of commerce in Port Jefferson (my wedding was at Port Jeff CC) and they gave me brochures and a small newspaper with info on the town and what was happening during the time my guest would be staying. I put water, gum, candy, snacks, tylenol, pen, different things like a candle in one or a small compact mirror, travel soap and a thank you letter for coming such a long way. We had an out of town dinner the night before and I gave them out there. They were a big hit!Welcome New Vendors
