Re: Hotel Baskets
we're going to include maps of the area & a sheet listing area attractions, restaurant suggestions, and cab companies. We're getting married over Labor Day, so a lot of our guests will be in town for 3 whole days.

Re: Hotel Baskets
My FMIL just made for her out of town guests. She put in water, cookies, crackers, candy, deoderant, hairspray, cute clips, soap, perfume samples, little bottles of booze, a picture of us in a frame, and lots more that I can't think of right now.

Re: Hotel Baskets
I made them with gift bags I got on sale at Michael's 2 for $1.00. I put in a LI post card, bag of chips/cheese doodles, tic tacs, creme saver hard candies, package of cookies, LIRR train schedule. I am also go to put in a bottle water. Oh, and a nice note from us.
I went to Target...got colorful gift bags: 2 bottles of water (24 at target for $5) 2 bags of chips (got those snack bags) lots of mints a welcome letter from us with wedding info, directions, night before dinner info and next day brunch info
went to CVS...trial sized goods: deodorant toothpaste lotion q-tips shaving cream
(plus a few others...I tried to think what I would need if I forgot something)

Re: Hotel Baskets
I did. I kept them small and simple. I bought gift bags at Odd Lot (nice ones too 2 for a $1) and put in a bottle of water, pretzels, oreos, aspirin and a fruit cup and spoon. I will also be including a note from us stating the shuttle times and inviting them to brunch the next day.
My guests aren't really out-of-towners..mostly friends and family that don't want to drive late at night or staying over so they can drink and party!!!

Re: Hotel Baskets
Asprin or Tylenol is a good idea. The last wedding we went to we were so hung over and had to leave the hotel to buy a bottle.

Re: Hotel Baskets
I am in the process as we speak. We bought baskets on e-bay for $1.00 each. We went to B.J.'s and got bottles of water and soda, mini pringles cans, chips, granola bars, gum, cookies, etc.
Depending on how many rooms you have filled it can get pricey. But any wedding we have been to that had this we loved. It is nice to have a little snack in the room.

Re: Hotel Baskets
Do you leave these with the front desk so they get one when you guest check in?

Re: Hotel Baskets
We filled nice bags (from michaels) with bottled water, napkins, candies (peppermint patties, kitkats, raisnetts, etc...), and granola bars. They were left at the front desk, and the hotel personnel gave the bags out when the guests checked-in. We labeled them with the date and name of the wedding
