A welcome letter, list of phone numbers to other people in the area, directions to the wedding sites, a list of local restaurants, shops, attractions. You could also include snacks, soft drinks, disposable camera, travel size toiletries, LI post cards.

Do you have a theme for your wedding that you can incorporate into the container or contents?

We haven't decided on a location yet, but we might have our wedding in NYC. My family is from TX so most of mine are coming from out of Town. So I am going to put together baskets with I LOVE NY T-Shirts. Shirts in Canal Street are like $2. I'm placing maps, must see places to visit, and possibly Taxi Cab cookies. I hope we end up having the wedding in the city, otherwise....I am going to alter the basket a bit.

we didn't have anything that original - a bottle of LI wine, wine opener, water, snacks, candy, a letter welcoming them to the wedding festivities.

My mom did the baskets, so the letters were from my parents.
