Hotel Block. 1 hotel or 2?

Hotel Block. 1 hotel or 2?

I have 150 OOT guests, roughly it would be about 40 rooms. we are planning a pre-party on Saturday night (wedding on Sunday am) at the hotel we stay at and doing a shuttle

I have heard that with so many OOT guests I should block at 2 hotels, but I didn't really want to pay for 2 shuttles. What do you girls think?

Can I get away with doing 1 hotel and if people don't want to stay there they can do what they want.. lol.

also anyone have any info about the Hilton garden inn in Ronkonkoma or the Courtyard Marriott in Ronkonkoma? (or any other recommended hotels?)

Yikes. I don't see how you're going to get away without 3 shuttles with 150 guests, regardless of how many hotels they are spread between. How many people can you jam on a bus?
Usually, you'd pick your hotel and a budget option, then ask if the shuttle can stop at each one.

We have a lot of OOTers and we went with just 1 hotel. (40 rooms)

I think it's just easier, plus, we rented a bus to take the guests to and from the reception.

We used La Quinta in Bohemia. It's brand new and relatively close to our reception site.

Good luck!

We had a lot of Ooters and suprisingly only 15 rooms were used. We went with the Hampton Inn in Farmingville. The rooms were beautiful and it comes with a hot continental breakfast.

I think it is fine to just have one hotel blocked. If the hotel that you had wanted to block was on the super expensive end, then I'd say block at two, the expensive one and a reasonable one.

We booked rooms at five hotels, and my website tells guests the distance to the reception hall -- we're not doing shuttles, they'll know when they book how far they'll have to drive. I don't think you have to provide shuttles, most people drive to and from weddings, even out of towners (because they rent a car for the trip).

The other option is to get a shuttle from a limo company to go to both hotels, but that's pricey.

We did room blocks in 2 and let people choose which one they wanted to stay at. Most of our guests that did come from OOT drove their own cars, there were only handful that didnt drive their own cars~> and they didnt need a shuttle b/c they rode with someone else.

I would rent a bus for your OOT guests and only book 1 hotel or book 2 and make sure that 2 stops both ways are in your contract for that bus
