HOTEL BLOCK

How far in advance should I get a block of hotel rooms for my OOT guests? Although I am not getting married for 568 days to be exact :) it is the week of July 4th.

We booked it one year in advance.

i would do it as soon as the hotel will let you... that way you have nothing to worry about!

I am getting married July 3, 2006 and one of the hotels I called wouldn't let me book until December of this year. The other hotel let me book 10 months in advance.

We also booked about 10 months in advanced since it is a holiday weekend.

Most of the hotels wouldn't let us book rooms until less than a year out, because the date wasn't in there system yet.

I think that your wedding is out East. If I am correct the Best Western and Holiday Inn are affiliated. They will only allow you to book 20 rooms between the 2 to start and then once 10 are booked, you get 10 more. We wound up getting 30 rooms at the Best Western and the rest at the Holiday Inn because of this.

Also, in 06, July 3 is on a Monday, so all the places have a 3 night weekend minimum except for BW and HI.

But I would call around for next year. Since July 3 is a Tuesday, it might be different.
