Re: Hotel Block???
I just called up the hotel and told them I wanted to block rooms for my wedding and they asked me questions and I answered them and that was it! Don't be scared.

Re: Hotel Block???
Ask to speak to the sales dept. When I called they asked me if it was for a wedding. I then told them how many rooms I needed and they gave me a rate (which is lower then if you just called for a regular reservation). They will then send you a contract. I also would check to make sure a breakfast (usually buffet) is included for your guests.

A lot of people will book 2 hotels, a cheaper one and a more expensive one. We blocked rooms at the wingate inn, they quoted us $159 a night, a little expensive but if we block enough rooms they offered us free shuttle service

Re: Hotel Block???
depends on your hall find a hotel nearest to your hall and then ask them to quote you.
I had blocked off at the holiday inn express in hauppauge have since canceled because its too far away. Now blocked at the Marriot in Farmingdale only because they provide free transportation to the hall which sold us and its pretty in there.
I heard that the Hilton was actually cheaper per night then the marriot but they do not provide transportation.
