Hotel Block

How far in advance are/did you make the hotel room block? FH family is all from out of town so i'm going to need a block a good amount of rooms.

And where is a good place to book a honeymoon suite for the FH and I??? The reception is in Suffolk County

I blocked about a year in advance. We booked the bridal suite at the same hotel where we did our block.

We did the block about 13 months before the wedding. I would start looking around now...

We booked ours at the Courtyard Marriott in Farmingdale in August (wea re getting married the week before you!). The hotel told us it is never too early!

my wedding is less then 3 months and I did it last week....i didn't have any problems.

where in suffolk are you looking?

For some reason when I went to book, they told me it was too early! But I think it was b/c I was trying to book over a year. Both hotels I spoke with had to wait until the date passed this year so you should be fine.

I booked at the Huntington Hilton, and we have a suite there. They gave us a really good rate.

Just make sure, if you need a lot of rooms (like, we def need approx 30/night) that you have people book early so you can open up more, b/c usually they will only let you book a certian amount of rooms at a time.

We reserved our hotel block a year in advance. We're 6 and half months out and 20 rooms have been booked already. I sent the block info with our STDs.

Not sure where in Suffolk you will be, but i think Courtyard by Marriott at exit 59 has a great rate and offers free shuttle for certain RHs.

We did the block a few months back, I say since your in June like me twin date do it sooner then later! No harm in setting aside rooms

Thank you everyone for all of your help! I just talked to FH and were gonna discuss everything this weekend about number of rooms etc... so we can block them! We are looking at about 30-40 rooms!

I booked mine in May. And, I don't know if everyone else came across the same thing, but I am pretty sure you can only block 10 rooms at a time - once those fill up, you can block 10 more, etc.
