Hotel block drama

Hotel block drama

I am having so much drama and stress from this hotel block, and I am thinking about changing blocks all together. The hotel takes no responsibility for the mistakes they made, and blame everything on 'glitches in the system'. Well honestly I really don't want a 'glitch' in the system the day of my wedding.

We have 20 or so rooms that are guaranteed for our wedding, but they wouldn't let us reserve more than 15, which I can understand. But today, 11 months before my wedding, there are no rooms available aside from our 15 guaranteed. I understand its first come first serve, but 11 months before, really? There have also been a lot of 2011 girls saying the hotel was overbooked for their wedding.

But the real kicker was when I tried to book our suite for the night before and wedding night, using our code and everything, and it wasn't working. I called the generic 800 corporate numberto find out why and there was no record of my wedding even in the system, meanwhile we signed the contract over a month ago.

The actual hotel blamed that first on it being too far away, but then when I told them that the person I spoke to told me there was already another wedding in the system, they changed the story to a glitch in the system. 'Definitely not human error' is how they put it. Fine. So now I'm in the system, supposedly, but it only gives me the option to book rooms with 2 double beds. All along we had been figuring on a suite. The sales manager said she can book me a suite, but honestly if the website is saying they are reserved already, I don't trust her.

Another hotel in the area was way too expensive when we started the block process, but when FH and I checked tonight, it has come down a LOT. It is a new hotel so we are thinking they had high aspirations but haven't been selling. We are hoping all goes well when I call them tomorrow. Pleeeease keep your fingers crossed for me!

ughh sorry you're dealing with this. it sounds like complete bs and it's annoying that they won't take responsibility for their mistakes.

if you need more than the 15 rooms they let you book and no other rooms are available, maybe you should keep this block in case any of your guests already booked, and start a second block at that other place.

good luck!! ii'm sure everything will work out

No one booked, because the a-holes just put me into the frickin system a few hours ago, and I took the info off our wedding website for now.
We really want to keep it all in one place because of shuttles/breakfast the next day.

Thanks for the sympathy ladies :)

That is really bad customer service. I'd tell them I want a discount for all their aggravation. Tell them you had guests who tried to book already and couldn't because you were never entered into the system over a month ago. Then I'd send a nice email to corporate to complain. LOL OK, maybe I wouldn't go that far.

May i ask which hotel this is? You can FM me if you don't want to post. I'm looking into Islandia Marriott so I am hoping its not the same place you're dealing with.

Good luck. when we were looking into booking BCC we couldn't figure out which hotel we would use that was close enough that was decent. There really isn't much really close to there. We had decided on the new Hyatt in Riverhead just for the heck of it but its so far from BCC.

No I don't care loll, it's the Crowne Plaza in Holtsville. Definitely check out the Springhill Suites Mariott in Bellport because they're the hotel that the prices have come WAY down.

That is nuts. It's funny how you can get different results from calling the generic number and the one for the actual hotel.
