So I don't have a hotel block since I can't figure how many rooms to block, so I wanted to send out a request for info with my save the dates. How does this sound?
If you do intend to attend, will you require a hotel room? If so, please let us know so we can reserve a block of rooms at a discounted rate. Email @gmail.com and let us know how many rooms and for which nights you need them.

Re: hotel block info
I think that is too much work for you. Block 10 rooms at a time...if they fill out, block 10 more. That is how my hotel is doing it and it's much easier IMO.
It sounds good, but I just feel like you're adding more work for yourself.

I agree....I just did 10 and then if they needed more we could have added.

Re: hotel block info
But for how many nights did you do the blocks? I figure some people just want the night of while some people might need the night before also. We have a lot of OOT guests coming from far away.

I think that it might be too much work and you may not get a response.. I could barely get people to visit our wedding website and it said 'Please visit out wedding website' on the STD lol.. Maybe you should just find a block thats no obligation and include that info for them.. I've gotten in contact with 6 hotels and none had an obligation to fill the block they just release them 1 month prior to the event if no one has booked them.. Would be much easier that way

I agree, just set up a block (or two) where you are not financially responsible. I set up 5 rooms for fri. night, and 10 for sat. night just in case people come into town early. If the rooms start to get booked you can always add more.

agreed. This is what we did. We started off at 10 rooms blocked and as people book them the hotel will add more rooms to the block.

Not sure yet! I started the hotel block biding site thing, I haven't seen one good one yet! I might go with Holiday Inn anyway, but I want to see if they give me a good rate through the site.
