Hotel Block issues

Okay, FH and I blocked approx 100 rooms (50 rooms for Fri and 50 for Sat) for our wedding. FH's family is entirely from out of town. Our block is released in a week and we still need to fill 12 more rooms to meet our quota.

The catch- we are financially responsible for these rooms pursuant to the contract

The hotel does not seem to be very sympathetic and if we do not fill the quote it does not look like they are going to help us out at all.

Any suggestions?

This hotel is in Westchester and all the hotels we looked at make you sign the contract if you reserve more than 25 rooms per night.

Maybe ask your catering hall for the contact info of the other bride that weekend. Maybe you can get her party to take some rooms...?

If you need to pay for the additional 12 rooms, then requst upgrades for yourselves and family members to make up the cost difference.

Otherwise, I would make sure to 'use' all of the 12 rooms so the hotel cannot sell these rooms.
