Hotel Block Question

Hotel Block Question

Currently I blocked rooms at 2 hotels. One has a rate of $159 a night, but includes full breakfast, shuttle to and from the reception hall, and we rented a hospitality room for an after party. The other hotel is $129 a night, and includes continental breakfast only. I want everyone to book at the first hotel because of the shuttle and hospitality suite, but I blocked rooms at the second hotel because of the rate.

Anyway, should I include a separate card in my STDs that lists what's included at each hotel (I know most of my friends will want to take the shuttle and not worry about a ride)? Or should I spread it by word of mouth? Or should I only include information about the $159/night hotel, and if anyone inquires about cheaper hotels I can give them the info for the $129? FH thought maybe we should rent a shuttle for the second hotel, but then I'm worried people will stay there and miss the after party.

Thanks!

Re: Hotel Block Question

I just sent mine out and included the Hotel info for both Hotels with the rates of each written on the card.

I did not get into details with what includes what at this time. I figure I would do that down the road when I send the invites.

Re: Hotel Block Question

The only reason I want to go into detail is so that people realize there's a shuttle and after-party at one, but not the other. People who stay at the $129/night will have to get their own transportation (unless we hire a separate shuttle) and can't join the party after. But I'm not sure how I should go about that.

Add a card telling people that transportation will be provided only from the first one. Otherwise everyone will book the cheap one.

Or just get a bus that goes to both. Its more money for you that way but less hassle.
