Re: hotel block wording
Here is our wording, printed on a 'reception card'
A block of rooms has been reserved at the *hotel* at a rate of *$XXX* per night. Please reference the *Last name/Last name* wedding when reserving your room. Please book by *some arbitrary date* to secure this rate.
I'll also include the direction card to the hotel
We have a month before the rooms are released, but I told them it was like a week before it actually was because people procrastinate.

Re: hotel block wording
Maybe just type something up and add it like on a business card size paper

This is what I am using:
Accomodations (in bold on top) For your convenience, a block of rooms have been reserved at XYZ Telephone number Please mention XYZ-XYZ (last names) for special rates. Rooms must be reserved on or before (date) to ensure rates.

Re: hotel block wording
i havent even thought about it...
i have this on my website though:
The Inn at Fox Hollow 7755 Jericho Terrace Woodbury, NY 11797
This all suites inn is a stone's throw from the reception hall for those who don't want to drive home at the end of the night. We have made arrangements with the hotel for our guests to receive a special discounted rate.
If you are interested in staying overnight, call XXXXX at (800) 291-8090 between the hours of 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday and reference the XXXXXX wedding. The special rate is available until October 2008.
We invite all of overnight guests to join us for breakfast the following morning.

Re: hotel block wording
We typed up a little note on a business card that we have the rooms blocked with a free shuttle and also that we will be having a brunch the next day. We also included the date of the cutoff for the hotel & put the directions card for the hotel in there also.

Re: hotel block wording
I did my own hotel cards only because we have a small hotel that doesn't offer premade hotel cards.
Here's what mine looked like- I printed them on postcard size card stock (was really cheap since it's four cards on a letter size card stock that has preferations to easily cut them).
As for the shuttle information I am putting that in the OOT bags- going to hand a note on the side of each of them so the guests know when to be down by, etc.
HTH!
Edit: Pic was too big so I put it in my album
