Hotel blocking...Which one should I choose

Ok so I went to check out 2 hotels yesterday that I was interested in using for the OOT guest and for us the day before and on our wedding night. Now that I've seen both i'm totally confused. I loved different things about both hotels and i dont know which one to choose. I want everyone to stay at the same hotel so everyone is together and more importantly....we get a discount on our bridal suite if we book a certain number of rooms. I need your help..

4 Points Sheraton...
The lobby is great for pictures
They have oversized rooms
The bridal suite has a HUGE 2 person jacuzzi
The hotel has a really clean look
its $115 a night
The bridal suite is $200 a night if i book 5 rooms, which wont be a problem. Reg price $295

BUT....
The hotel is out in plainview which is a distance from the reception hall as well as from where we live
The shuttle is $550 for 4 hrs ( 2 hrs before and 2 after)

Laquinta Inn.....
The lobby is also great for pictures
The guest rooms are not as big but the bridal suite is 5 times as big
They have an indoor jacuzzi for the guests which i know my guest will appreciate
They are ALOT closer to the reception hall and to where the NY family lives
IF I book 15 rooms I get $150 off bridal suite OR a free shuttle for everyone to and from WM
The person who showed us around was MUCH nicer and accomodating to my daughter and myself

BUT......
Their rooms cost $139 a night
There is no jacuzzi in the bridal suite

So I dont know if i should go with the cheaper hotel that farther away or the more exspensive hotel that closer.I'm trying to think of what my guest would appreciate more. Do you ladies think they would be willing to pay more if they are closer?

Re: Hotel blocking

I was choosing beween these 2 hotels myself... essentially i went with la quinta bc i thought it was silly for guests that drive further out on the island just to get to a hotel... didnt make sense to me

i would go with la quinta. i stayed there after a wedding and it was very nice.

as for the jacuzzi, there was one in one of the hotels we considered staying in. as nice and as appealing as it sounds, DH and i discussed it and when are you actually going to use it? you won't get back to the hotel until late and you might have an after party. you will be tired and want to get to bed after the wedding and the next day you have to check out by the time you wake up. although that was just us, maybe you guys would use it, but that was a deciding factor. it was just going to be a waste for us.

I'd go with the La Quinta. I think it would be better to be closer and pay about $25 more, than to be father away.

I would definitely say to go with la quinta. I like to give my business to people who are easy to work with, and its closer.

I agree with the previous posters.

I blocked with 4 Points. But it's also only 4 miles from NRC. I'd say go with La Quinta since it's closer. It'll be much more convenient for your guests.

I say check out hilton garden inn right behind the bed, bath, and beyond. i was deciding between the la quinta and BBB, and ultimately chose the hilton because of the shuttle situation.

Thanks everyone La Quinta it is. Your right I probably wont even use the jacuzzi. The bridal suite blew me away at La Quinta also...its huge. My entire bridal party can stay there with me the night before..al of 5 girls, 2 are kids.

I checked out the hilton but they could not give me pricing so early for a 2011 block. They told me what the rates are for Jan 2010 which were more than La quinta and she told me more than likely they will be going up. La quinta is allowing me to block now and get 09 rates.

I would go with the closest one. It's easier for your guests, and they were a lot nicer to you and your daughter it sounds like...I like to go with the deal that gives me better customer service As far as the jacuzzi....like a PP said, you may not even get to use it...you will come back, maybe have an afterparty, be tired and then have to check out the next morning. If you really want one, then I would look into making sure you have one in your room on your HM That way you will get to definitely enjoy it and for longer!!
