do I need to make an appointment with someone at the hotels I am visiting to book the block? or just show up?

if its during the week i would just show up but if its the weekend i would make an appt

i made phone calls to places n asked about their rates, whats included, shuttles, breakfasts, etc....

then i went to visit the one i liked best on a weeknight, no appt, jus a drop in (although i talked to my contact prior to n he said it was fine)

n then i blocked everything over the phone the next day! and handled all the contracts by fax

I just called them, they faxed over the agreement and I singed it and faxed it back. I have to say that was the easiest contract to sign!!!!!

i actually did everything over the phone and faxed the agreement. never looked at the properties since they are too far from me.

I did it over the phone, they faxed me the paper work and IZ faxed it back. I did just show up 2 visit the place just to make I liked it though and I didnt have to make an apt.

Booked thru email--didnt go there. I checked the reviews on Trip advisor and went with the hotel that was the nicest that gave me the best rate. I plan on visting one of these days but I love trip advisor--the reviews are usually right.

Sometimes the people that handle the room blocks arent always working though.

I did it all over the phone...i haven't seen the hotel in person yet. It's a Hampton Inn though and it's new so I'm not really worried

some places the sales people are only there during week or on weekend by appointment. i called al lthe ones I wanted to see and asked if appointmen was needed or not. Goodluck!!

We called got quotes then just dropped in. Someone at the desk showed us around we loved the rooms. Call in the AM got the contract in the mail, signed and returned.

We just showed up at most of ours... actually now that I think about it I emailed for quotes first and then just showed up to see the places that gave us the best rates.
