on average, how many rooms do you need to block for a hotel to hold the reservations? how much do you need to pay to hold them?

Re: hotel blocks?
I blocked 10 rooms and had to pay 50% on every room, which kind of sucks

Re: hotel blocks?
How does that work?? Do you get that 50% back if the rooms book up? (and lose it if they don't??)

Re: hotel blocks?
I have a lot of OOT guests too. I blocked 20 rooms at the Huntington Hilton and 15 rooms at the Chalet in Centerport.
There is usually no charge to do it, people just have a deadline to book and if they don't book by then the rooms go back into the system as free.

Re: hotel blocks?
Fashionhag -you can say you are booking 10 rooms to get the block - just make sure you don't have to pay anything if ti does not get filled or offer an earlier release date to get the block - hotles don't fill the blocks all the time - ther are a lot that are released
